Stéphane Narvaez
Founder of ECCO,
skipper and certified cruising sailing instructor, FFV recreational sailing coach

WE ARE INTERESTED IN YOUR QUESTIONS - FIND THE ANSWERS TO THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS HERE

The sea is a place of great nature, which means that we are exposed to the elements. The habitable sailboat is a shelter with a fitted and protected interior space. When you are on deck you are exposed. It is therefore necessary to plan clothes for the expected weather and probable bad weather. Thus, you must always have warm, windproof and waterproof clothes. In summer, most of the time we stay with light clothes because the weather is mild and the sea is clement. We protect ourselves from the sun with a hat and glasses.
We also think of deck shoes that offer comfort, protection and grip when moving around.
For the night, a simple duvet is enough. Adequate food and plenty of water to never run out of energy and hydration... And for fun.
Yes.
All levels of sailing knowledge are welcome.
The FFV defines different levels and we are here to, if you wish, help you progress from beginner level to autonomy.
Seasickness is often caused by cold, hunger or fatigue. We should therefore avoid putting ourselves in these situations. When in doubt, it is best to ask your doctor and/or take "mer calme" as a precaution.
At night we have new landmarks to find our bearings. Summer is very pleasant. Moreover, if the moon comes in, it gives us a glow which outlines the coast and offers a different panorama from the day. To consider it, you need to be in good shape to be able to keep watch, navigate and adjust the sails. Depending on the duration of the crossing, it is necessary to consider night shifts to rest and to always have a crew in good shape.
We offer cruises on a habitable sailboat with a professional skipper for an enriching sailing experience.
The courses are adapted to all levels and all requests so that everyone progresses in their knowledge and know-how.
Whether you come with family, alone, as a couple or with friends, you will each progress at your own pace while having fun.

On the program: sailing, points of sail, sail adjustment, choice of sail, spinnaker maneuvers, anchoring and mooring, harbor maneuvers, night navigation if the weather is favorable, use of electronics, sextant, analysis of weather charts, navigation plan, on-board management, environment, ...
Training with a professional skipper offers benefits such as gaining practical sailing skills, personalized advice and the guarantee of safe navigation on a habitable sailboat.
We offer various types of cruises, including learning cruises, discovery cruises, improvement cruises and theme cruises, all carried out on habitable sailboats with the accompaniment of a qualified and experienced professional skipper. All cruises are carried out in respect of the environment with awareness of marine fauna. If the weather conditions permit and if you wish, it is possible to carry out cetacean observation sessions by going along the route where whales and dolphins are likely to be present. You will thus become an actor in participatory science
To be well organized with food, it is important to plan meals in advance.
Create a shopping list based on this menu. The best is to organize a drive or delivery to the port at the time of departure. Allow for the skipper's share of the provisioning.
In all cases provide at least 2 liters of water per day and per person and some fun snacks for when you're hungry between meals.
Don't forget the fruits which are excellent in nutritional terms and excellent snacks.
Consult us so as not to buy what is already on board.
On board there is everything you need for cooking. Everyone participates in preparing meals.
It is always more difficult to cook at sea, so it is preferable to prepare meals in port or at anchor before sailing.
A deposit of 50% of the total amount will be required to confirm the reservation. The balance will be paid 15 days before departure.
For reservations less than two weeks before departure, the total amount will be requested.
In the event of cancellation on our part, all payments will be refunded without further compensation.
In the event of cancellation on your part, no refund will be made.
For your comfort, we recommend that you bring either sheets or a sleeping bag. The ideal is a sleeping bag. Also don't forget a towel for your stay.
Internet works with the terrestrial network. As soon as we move away from these relays, communications are reduced. However, in coastal navigation on the Côte d'Azur there is always a network so the internet works for our program.
On board you will find sanitary facilities, a kitchen equipped with all the utensils for cooking, a fridge, a cooler, plenty of storage space and something to charge your electronic devices. When anchored, a bimini will allow you to stay in the shade. In the cockpit, cushions for your comfort, a table for lunch and dinner outdoors and a shower to rinse off after swimming. The annex is equipped with an electric motor.
Yes, swimming is possible as long as the boat is anchored at anchor.
The contact page also allows you to ask questions, which we will be happy to answer.
